We are seeking a Vice President, Enterprise Data & Analytics who will lead the vision, strategy and execution for enterprise data at Zendesk, taking us to the next step on our journey to scale, mature and to become a data-driven global enterprise.

You will provide data for not only insights but also to drive improvement in customer experience, process automation and decision making. As a cross-functional leader, you will craft a vision and direction for enterprise data and analytics at Zendesk that matches our maturity, our aspirations and our culture and execute on that vision.

Reporting to the CIO, you will lead the organization that is responsible for building and managing the technical infrastructure, data platform and visualization technologies. You will lead a global team of data engineers, data analysts and data scientists who are responsible for enterprise analytics and providing tools, data and expertise to functional business analytics teams.

Primary Focus Areas – First Year:

Work with senior leadership across the organization to craft a vision for data and analytics at scale for Zendesk

Identify, prioritize and socialize strategies to achieve the vision.

Build an integrated roadmap

Implement a hybrid operating model

Implement a data governance model

Establish information architecture

Responsibilities:

Own the vision, strategy and execution for enterprise data & analytics, ensuring scalability of systems processes and talent

Management of integrated analytics roadmap

Define and own the strategy for investments, working closely with key business analytics leaders, and executive management

Manage data insights and analytics, including enterprise dashboards and supporting creation of functional dashboards in partnership with business functions

Oversee visualization tools, creation and management of dashboards. Leverage Zendesk technology wherever appropriate

Oversee data governance and data integrity

Lead machine learning/artificial intelligence initiative

Drive mentor, and motivate the organization to focus on continuous operational excellence, enterprise analytics architecture evolution, improved solution design practices, and high-value technology selection decisions with transparency to business leaders and alignment with Enterprise Architecture

Build an internal and external brand for the organization aimed at talent acquisition and retention in a highly competitive market

Serve and represent Zendesk as a thought leader on data issues in strategic partnerships and via industry forums

Qualifications:

10 +years in data pipelines, data warehouse, data analytics, data science, machine learning, AI or related disciplines

Outstanding business acumen with an understanding of business drivers and of how to drive value to the customer

10+ yrs working with BI tools

Experience with GCP ecosystem

Proven leadership building data analytics, data science and data engineering capabilities

Proven track record of coaching/mentoring individual contributors into more senior roles

Ability to translate business needs to analytic requirements and take the results of complex analyses and communicate them to a broad audience

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with B2C Tech companies

Knowledge and practical application of advanced statistical analysis and mathematical modeling concepts and principles

Advanced degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related field

Big 5 consulting

Experience in driving leading data governance a plus

Experience productionalizing machine learning models
