Sr. Manager, Risk Intelligence

Amazon WW Operations formed a centralized team, Transportation Rick Compliance (TRC), to partner with Amazon’s Transportation & Logistics business operations to identify and mitigate risk in a rapidly growing and complex, global environment. To support the business, we are continually striving to innovate and provide best in class service levels through the introduction of pioneering new products and services.
We are looking for a Sr. Manager for the Business Intelligence and Analytics team with proven project management skills to own and execute strategic, cross-functional operations and technology projects in support of the TRC and our global stakeholders. They will design our data flow strategy, our underlying systems and processes, and build out our tools to support your vision.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· A desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment.
· Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and 4-5+ years industry experience
· Experience designing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics and implementing data best practices
· Experience with ETL, OLAP, SQL, and DynamoDB.
· Experience with at least one relational database technology such as Redshift, Oracle, MySQL or MS SQL
· Experience with at least one massively parallel processing data technology such as Redshift, Spark, or Hadoop based big data solutions
· Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Ruby, Java, etc)
· Experience implementing a data science strategy
· Experience leading an effective technology team
· Experience with AWS technologies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
· 10+ years of relevant professional experience as a Business Intelligence Leader.
· Coding proficiency in more than one modern programming language (Python, Ruby, Java, etc)
· Query performance tuning skills using Unix profiling tools and SQL, demonstrated ability to mentor others in this area
· Experience leading large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including using AWS technologies – Redshift, Redshift Spectrum, Athena, S3, Step Functions, Glue, EC2, Data-pipeline and other big data technologies.
