The Senior Director of Global Sales Development will lead and develop a highly driven and hardworking team of Leaders focused on lead generation and qualification. Our lead generation specialists are often the first interaction prospective customers have with the company and is one of the keys to the success of Zendesk!

We are looking for a positive, performance fueled, and influential individual with deep SaaS experience. Your outstanding leadership, communications and business leadership skills will empower, optimize, develop and scale Zendesk’s Worldwide Sales Development function! You are an experienced leader of leaders and people manager and will build and expand your team to ensure operational perfection. Engaging closely with VP internal partners, you will develop, deploy and maintain a robust lead generation process. You have proven experience in managing, building and encouraging teams to achieve weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets.

Responsibilities:

Direct a team of leaders, Regional Directors of Sales Development, who are responsible for strategic business development planning that leads to pipeline growth
Meet regularly with key senior stakeholders, reporting on team results and leading conversations about business direction, what we need to do to ensure success and how we successfully deliver
Provide feedback and recommendations on marketing efforts from real-world interactions with prospects and customers.
Retain a culture of agility and speed while growing the focus on metrics, measurement, and building for scale
Provide ongoing mentoring and development of the team including Directors and front-line managers. This includes recruiting, onboarding and training new Managers/Directors, team events and culture building
Work with our enablement teams to ensure the appropriate training needs are flagged and executed on
Identify and execute ways to innovate our model and work cross-functionally across departments (Marketing, Ops, Product, IT) to push our initiatives
Mature our sales processes, metrics, and skills

Requirements:

You’ve been there and done it: scaling Sales Development functions in a high growth environment
Strong communication, people, and system building skills
Extensive experience in sales, and considerable software experience in SaaS/Customer Support/Sales/CRM
You are a leader of change who can inspire, coach and mentor teams to achieve new heights
Able to thrive in a startup environment— you move quickly, think strategically, and are superb at tactical execution
You understand regional nuances where we might need to flex our global strategy
You think globally and know how to align efforts with the direction and best interests of the organization
Excellent in organizational leadership and raising team to new heights
Fluency in English is required, with additional languages a bonus
Flexibility to work across multiple geographies and timezones
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
