Hulu’s Advanced Analytics team is seeking a Sr Analyst who will be an outstanding addition to our growing team. At Hulu, you will liaise with business partners to apply advanced-statistical methods to find opportunities to efficiently acquire subscribers and understand their financial value. You will promote the use of data as a critical value driver and source of competitive advantage across our organization. Our ideal profile for this role is someone who is passionate about using data to drive critical decisions around subscriber acquisition and lifetime value, and has experience turning unstructured business problems into statistical/econometric/data science solutions. You will work closely with multiple parts of the business to efficiently deliver impactful analysis and recommendations.

What you’ll do

Develop rigorous analyses using statistical models & machine learning while working collaboratively with business partners to identify high-impact opportunities related to media optimization and customer value
Research and apply appropriate methods for new analyses depending on request
Conduct analysis and build models for, but not limited to, marketing attribution, incrementality, media optimization, CLV, experimentation, media measurement, and lift studies
Analyze output from state-of-the-art optimization algorithms to guide efficient media budget allocation
Conduct reproducible data analyses and insightful visualizations that help tell a story
Present action-oriented analyses to partners, clearly articulating results and business impact, both visually and verbally
Document methodologies and proactively share them with team members

What to bring

2+ years of hands-on experience in developing statistical models and implementing data science solutions
Master’s or PhD degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Operational Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, etc. from a top-tier university, or equivalent work experience
Demonstrable experience using statistical, econometric, machine learning and optimization techniques
Strong/intermediate business intuition i.e. understanding how analysis outputs will affect the business
Ability to understand a business problem and translate it into an analytically tractable solution
Proficiency with the following tools/languages: R/Python, SQL
Ability to tell a story with data both verbally and visually with presentation/slideshow software (PowerPoint, Google Slides etc.)
An open mind to pick up new analytical techniques as required


Experience within the entertainment industry, eCommerce, subscription-based business, or media/advertising
Consulting experience
Experience with time series forecasting techniques
