About the job

You will lead and provide strong technical direction across all Google IoT security products. You will craft the strategy for new security features, collaborate with leaders across Google Cloud and other Google areas like cloud security, Hardware and Android, and work with cloud customers to understand their business needs and determine how best to balance security concerns against product functionality of IoT. This role primarily involves developing security components in Google IoT stacks and will be a highly visible role, both internally and externally.

Google Cloud helps millions of employees and organizations empower their employees, serve their customers, and build what’s next for their business — all with technology built in the cloud. Our products are engineered for security, reliability and scalability, running the full stack from infrastructure to applications to devices and hardware. And our teams are dedicated to helping our customers — developers, small and large businesses, educational institutions and government agencies — see the benefits of our technology come to life.
Responsibilities

Build and grow a security focused software team with domain knowledge in IoT. Develop security libraries, tools, standards and principles for all IoT teams to simplify maintenance and audits.
Design and develop security features for the entire IoT stacks that may run in constrained environments with an RTOS on limited RAM including, but not limited to code verification, attestation and secure boot.
Design and develop network security protocols and methods for end-to-end security in an Industrial IoT setting. Minimize security overhead in resource-constrained devices and implement methods to ensure integrity and attestation of messages generated by IoT devices (including but not limited to sensor data, logs, etc.).
Monitor threats and vulnerability assessment across all the platforms supported by IoT (RTOS, Embedded Gateways, etc.) and ensure that security updates are made available in a timely fashion to all customers.
Develop tools for performing security and forensic audits in deeply embedded environments (in Industrial IoT domains); partner with other Google security teams to develop AI-based threat prediction models and apply them to IoT environments. Work with Google Cloud customers to understand their security vulnerabilities, deployment hazards, product use cases and reflect customer feedback in our security products to measurably improve the end-to-end security posture.
