Metadata Workshop 2016

September 6, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 5:30 pm BST

Metadata Madness New

3rd Annual Metadata Workshop

Access All Devices – Featuring Presentation of SAM Project* Results

IntroductionRegister Button Blue

Handheld and Mobile devices have for a long time played a key role in enabling consumers to access a broad range of music and gaming content, whilst more recently video has also emerged as being of significance. Often cited as being a vehicle suitable primarily for ‘short form snacking’, more and more viewers are reaching for their phones and tablets to enjoy both TV content and movies.Sponsors

The entertainment experience, using these devices, is far from a passive one, with consumers fully engaging in order to search, comment, recommend and share.

To reflect the above trends, programme distributors, including studios, broadcasters and OTT platforms, are increasingly adopting new technology solutions and changing their business models to enable customers to access their paid for programming and any additional materials, in a more flexible manner.

The ‘data backbone’ needed to support the diverse functionality and flexibility demanded by today’s consumer is the main focus for this year’s Metadata workshop. Once again a group of ‘passionately involved’ industry speakers and delegates will come together to share their experiences and lessons learned, while helping to  identify the future requirements, ‘ideals’ and best practice approaches needed to create and manage an efficient solution that delivers the required seamless experience.

The ‘data backbone’ needed to support the diverse functionality and flexibility demanded by today’s consumer is the main focus for this year’s Metadata Workshop.

Tables, consisting of up to 10 industry participants, across a range of different interest groups, will be invited to discuss their views.

The round table discussion will be divided into two sessions, with the outputs from each building towards a shared understanding of the Metadata needs that will support the growing need for multiscreen access to content and enable maximum operational efficiencies to be realised.
