Content Security Workshop 2016
May 24, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm BST
Content Security Workshop
24th May, 2-5.30 p.m, Courthouse Hotel, 19-21 Great Marlborough Street, London, W1F 7HL
The subject of security remains high on the agenda for content owners and distributors as well as their industry partners involved in the workflow process. The security threats are many and various and therefore the processes and solutions that need to be employed to avoid content theft and its illegal distribution need to reflect this. Identifying the source of the leaks is also an important element in the fight, helping to prevent further security breaches and bring the offenders to justice.
For those involved in producing and distributing live content, particularly when it involves major sporting events, much of the security focus centred on identifying any pirated streams and shutting them down as quickly as possible.
When it comes to movies, most TV programming, music and games, content security is, in a large part, all about ensuring that the title is not leaked ahead of the planned launch date. This requires diligent processes and procedures as well as the employment of ‘state of the art’ technology.
All of the above will come under the microscope during the forthcoming MESA Europe content security workshop as participants from across the industry share their thoughts, experiences and plans for identifying and tackling the security threat.
Among the key topic areas to be discussed will be:
- Safeguarding Content Workflows
- Tackling Online Piracy
- Identifying the Offenders – Watermarking and Beyond!
- Taking Content Security to the Next Level

Once the original production has been completed, the sales and promotional process gathers momentum, with awards screeners and promotional clips and copies starting to circulate. In parallel, the localisation process also gets underway, with multiple third parties gaining access to pre-release content in order to hit an increasingly tight schedule. In this next session we hear from someone who has been closely involved in this sector for many years and learn about what is being done and what needs to be done to prevent the potential disaster of a pre-release leak.
