March 28, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm CEST

Content & CyberSecurity Forum

The Westin Paris, 3 rue de Castiglione, 75001 Paris, France

28th March 2017

Information and content security and the growing global spotlight on the threats posed by cyber- crime continue to make these topics priority areas of focus for MESA Europe, driven by the wants and needs of the industry it serves.

In response, last year saw the launch of a number of MESA led security initiatives in Europe, with information and
experience sharing and the need for improved awareness and industry education high on the agenda for 2017*.

The changing legal, political and economic environment within Europe also contributes to the unique set of challenges that companies wanting to conduct business in the region have to come to terms with, in order to remain both secure and compliant.

*Rights Owners represented on the security committee include BBC, BT, ITV, Lionsgate, NBC Universal, Premier League, Sky,  Sports Rights Owners Coalition, Twentieth Century Fox, Viacom, Virgin Media, Walt Disney and Warner.

The MESA Europe Content and CyberSecurity Forum will take place on the morning of 28th March in Paris.

Cyberattacks – Outcomes and Impact
Pascal Hetzscholdt, Principal Consultant, Cartesian

To become Cyber Secure requires a proactive approach. As part of this, companies need to know when an attack has
occurred and have in place a clearly defined approach to dealing with the problem. Key to this is having
appropriate security awareness training in place.  The profile of cyberattacks has been massively elevated in
recent months and the  impact on those affected is now widely understood.

However, when it comes to what can be done to minimise the risk and reduce the fallout, awareness is somewhat lower. During this next presentation, we will hear from a renowned Content and Data security expert who will talk about the impact of recent attacks, important lessons learned and some essential steps that can be taken to protect business, employee and customer interests.

Arnaud Careo, Chief Technology Officer, Le Labo Paris

Workflow Security is a critical component in the post production process and requires a strong commitment across all those involved. In this next presentation we will be taken through a recent security case study example to learn first-hand where the vulnerabilities lie and what steps can be taken to protect valuable pre-release content.

The Importance of Security Audits

Supplier audits are an integral part of the security process, and are mandated by most content producers before any commercial relationship can commence. During this on stage interview we will hear more about what is involved.

Chris Johnson, Global Director Anti-Piracy & Compliance Programs, Content Delivery &  Security Association

Session Chair:
Jim Bottoms, Executive Director, MESA Europe

Building a Security Aware Corporate Culture
Neil Beckford, Security Director EMEA, Deluxe Media
Didier Delabre, Deputy Director of Audit, Orange
Alex Pickering, Global Privacy Director, BBC Worldwide
Nik Savchenko
, Senior Manager, Studio Content Protection (EMEA), Walt Disney

Effective data and content security requires a focussed attitude and united corporate culture, extending across all levels of the organisation and throughout the supplier network. Obtaining and maintaining this level of commitment has significant implications on resources as any policies and processes need to be rigidly adhered to and constantly refreshed. In our closing panel of the morning we will hear from a number of experienced, senior level, executives who know what it takes to build an effective Security Aware Culture, have experience in setting the KPI’s needed to measure its success and, as important, can identify any areas of weakness which present a potential security threat.
