Edward Klaris is the Chief Executive Officer of KlarisIP, a boutique consulting and managed services firm focusing on data, metadata, content supply chain, and rights & obligation management in the Media & Entertainment industry. KlarisIP has a presence in Los Angeles, New York, and Washington DC. In addition to best-of-breed functional consultants, KlarisIP provides subject matter expertise in technology, finance, legal, and creative business practices. Ed is an accomplished copyright, trademark and technology lawyer, who represents major and mid-size networks and studios in LA and elsewhere. He is also a professor of law at Columbia Law School and travels around the world to speak on topics involving artificial intelligence, media technology, and copyright. Prior to founding KlarisIP in 2014, Ed worked as Senior Vice President at Condé Nast, where he and his group managed all of the company’s media assets and rights. Ed was also General Counsel of The New Yorker, media counsel at ABC, Inc., and an attorney at Davis Wright Tremaine, a leading IP and media firm in NY.
