JJ comes to us with a diverse background in security, his career in security has spanned 2 decades and multiple industries. His first job offer in security came at the age of 13 while doing technical support with his family’s dial up ISP. It was promptly rescinded when they learned his age. His first paying security role was selling home security systems for Monitronics while he attended college. His first cybersecurity role was with a managed services provider specializing in HIPAA compliance. Here he managed their NOC and monitored client production and backup systems for performance, uptime and security concerns.
From there he moved onto a role in fraud prevention for an e-commerce company. He worked closely with accounting and sales to prevent fraudulent orders. He also worked with the application teams to prevent DDOS and malicious activity on their public facing e-commerce applications. He left the e-commerce world for Charter Communications, there he helped them understand performance and capture real time analytics of the Spectrum Guide applications.
Currently, JJ is leading the content security initiative for SHIFT on their Screeners.com platform. Taking point on creating a proof of concept to monitor the platform in real time for activity that could put content at risk. This POC has been extremely successful and it is moving from a POC to another offering from SHIFT for their Screeners.com clients.
