CDSA CYBERSECURITY & CONTENT PROTECTION SUMMIT RETURNS TO NAB ON APRIL 7 IN LAS VEGAS

LAS VEGAS —Media & entertainment (M&E) has become a popular target for hackers and other bad-attackers eager to disrupt the creation, production and distribution of entertainment and information around the globe. Broadcasts have been interrupted. Streams have been diverted. Productions have been hacked. And viewer privacy has been compromised.

To help attendees better understand the state of cybersecurity in M&E, as well as distribute proven solutions to common threats, the NAB Show, and the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) are co-producing the second-annual Cybersecurity & Content Protection Summit on April 7 at the Westgate Hotel in Las Vegas.

“This year’s CDSA Cybersecurity & Content Protection Summit program at NAB will place increased emphasis on the role that the technology providers play in securing workflows, content distribution and the viewer experience,” says CDSA Executive Director, Guy Finley. “Movies and television are vital forms of public communications and data collection that, if attacked, can impact public awareness, opinion and privacy. And with a growing industry move toward digital infrastructure, these threats continue to scale.”

The preliminary program outline includes sessions on:

  • Securing the Future (IP, ATSC 3.0, Streaming, 5G)
  • Securing the Cloud (Production, Archiving, Distribution)
  • Securing the Workflow (Solutions & Systems)
  • Securing the News (Studio & Field Operations)
  • Securing the Live Event (Sports & Entertainment)
  • Securing Distribution (Broadcast, Satellite, OTT)
  • Securing the Viewer (Consumer Data & Privacy)
  • Securing the Truth (Deep Fakes, Disinformation)

The program will also feature a Special Workshop from the Trusted Partner Network (TPN), a joint venture between the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and CDSA, which was launched at last year’s NAB Show. In 2019, TPN will be announcing its newest industry-wide security initiative, which is designed to secure essential workflow technologies including applications & the cloud.

The Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) is a 49-year old non-profit association responsible for content protection and cybersecurity standards, best practices, audit programs and education services for the film & television communities. Its conference programs are developed under the direction of its Board and Content Advisors, which include senior security executives from: Adobe, Amazon Studios, Amblin Entertainment, AMC Networks, Bad Robot, BBC Studios, British Telecom, CBS, Electronic Arts, HBO, Hulu, Legendary Entertainment, LEGO, Lionsgate, Marvel Studios, Microsoft, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Open Road Films, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sky, STX Entertainment, The Walt Disney Studios, Turner, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros.
