SDI Media Moves to New Helsinki Facility, Increases Finland Capacity by 50%

Localisation specialist SDI Media has moved into a new Helsinki studio, increasing its capacity and square footage by 50%, with the aim of better serve subtitling and dubbing services demand, due to new OTT platforms, in Finland.

While SDI continues to focus on remote recording solutions due to the ongoing pandemic, the company made the investment in the Helsinki to keep pace with growing demand in the Scandinavian market, adding nearly half a dozen new live recording rooms, a theatrical room, an edit suite, better connectivity (with a focus on Aspera Faspex, Signiant and FTP), and improved security, compliant with major physical and digital standards.

“This bigger and better facility will enable us to fully service the growing Finnish localisation market, offering dubbing and subtitling services to content owners wishing to localise their content,” said Pekka Salo, SDI Media’s Finland country manager. “We have increased the size of our studios to meet new standards with higher security and have the capacity to take on more work with our investment in technology and space.”

CCTV and Lenel Access Control is featured throughout the facility, with its two , and two automated dialog replacement (ADR) rooms covered by access control, to ease security concerns around high profile pre-release materials.
