Keywords Studios Acquire Game Engineering Specialist Coconut Lizard (MESA)

Game development specialist Keywords Studios has acquired Gateshead, UK-based Coconut Lizard, a fellow game development services firm touted for its Unreal Engine gaming work.
The acquisition expands Keywords’ game development offerings, with the addition of Coconut Lizard’s game optimisation, hardening, porting and middleware integration services for Unreal Engine game development, along with nearly 30 game developers.
The business has added 10 developers to its team since January 2020, taking its current headcount to 29 with further growth expected during the year.
“The Coconut Lizard team will bring further expertise in the Unreal Engine as well as access to talent to our wider team of around 1,000 people working across our game development studios internationally,” said Keywords Studios CEO Andrew Day. “We are delighted to welcome Robert and the team at Coconut Lizard to the Keywords family.”
