Sony Electronics Donates N95 Masks to Hospitals in Their Local New Jersey, New York Community (MESA)

Sony committed to use its resources on a global and local scale to help those impacted by COVID-19. Globally, Sony announced the formation of the worldwide “Sony Global Relief Fund for COVID-19” in late April, a 100 million US dollar fund to support those around the world affected by the COVID-19 virus.

The fund will provide support in three key areas: assistance for those individuals engaged in frontline medical and first responder efforts to fight the virus, support for children and educators who must now work remotely, and support for members of the creative community in the entertainment industry, which has been greatly impacted by the spread of the virus.

In keeping with Sony’s initiatives, the Electronics division has donated their stock of PPE to several locations in New Jersey, New York and California, where the company’s offices reside. As different states continue to bend the curve, Sony wants to maintain its support to hospitals that are still in need of PPE.

Sony Electronics has many customers, employees and partners located in New Jersey and New York, so pitching in and supporting local medical personnel on the front lines by donating N95 masks to Holy Name Medical Center and St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in New Jersey and Lincoln Medical Center in New York remains a priority. Sony has distributed 8600 masks to date in New Jersey and New York.

“We know that so many hospitals need and will continue to need PPE. Having been born at Holy Name, the tri-state area is near and dear to my heart. We are thrilled that we can provide support locally in New Jersey and New York as we will be doing in California and in other locations,” says Mike Fasulo, President and COO of Sony Electronics.

“Sony cares about our front line professionals, which is why we are providing N95 masks to local hospitals in the New York and New Jersey area,” says Theresa Alesso, President, Imaging Products & Solutions Professional Division at Sony Electronics. “We are fortunate to be in a position to lend a helping hand to our neighbors, and it’s even more meaningful for us to give back to the healthcare community, an industry Sony has proudly worked alongside and served for over 30 years.”

As states begin to reopen businesses and facilities, it is more important than ever to remain vigilant about containing the spread of COVID-19. Sony hopes to be able to continue to raise awareness that hospitals and medical professionals will continue to need support in the days ahead.
