Sohonet CEO to Examine Remote Post Options at Smart Content Summit

It used to be that working remotely in the media and entertainment space was a luxury. But with those working on productions spread around the world, and ever-increasing travel challenges — including costs, scheduling, talent availability, and virus outbreaks — working remotely has now become a requirement.

Chuck Parker, CEO of Sohonet, will share his thoughts on the industry options for high-quality and secure solutions for remote screening, color-grading and finishing review and approvals, during his March 4 presentation “Leveling Up: Remote Post Collaboration for Studios” at the Smart Content Summit in L.A.

While most of the moving parts of the content production chain are working hard to ensure content moves between applications (while retaining as much metadata as possible), Sohonet is working to provide an “over-the-shoulder” experience for content collaboration, one that keeps content in its original system (Baselight, Resolve, Flame, Avid, etc.), so there’s one less metadata step to manage.

The Smart Content Summit is sponsored by Tape Ark and Seagate, Whip Media Group, EIDR, BeBanjo, Cinelytic, Frame.io, Pixelogic, Sohonet, Sony and Spherex, and produced by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and the Smart Content Council, which meets regularly to share best practices, evaluate emerging technologies and collaborate to accelerate the pace of transformation in our industry.
