MESA’s Winter ‘M&E Journal’ – ‘Intelligent Hollywood’ – Goes Live

The winter edition of the “M&E Journal,” published by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and geared toward senior media and entertainment executives who oversee their companies’ digital futures, is now available online.

The 96-page publication features insights from two dozen MESA members, from Birlasoft to Wasabi, with the issue’s main focus centered on the tools, processes and technologies transforming the media and entertainment industry today and in the future.

Along with the cover section — “Intelligent Hollywood” — the issue offers industry insights for three crucial industry areas: “New Workflows,” “Smart Content” and “Security Solutions.” Additionally, the “M&E Journal” also features columns from Diamond and MESA’s executive leadership.

Here’s a quick look at what’s included in each section:

• The “Intelligent Hollywood” section sees leaders from Amdocs Media, Birlasoft, FilmTrack, Genpact, Luxoft, OTOY, RSG Media and Sohonet offer the latest on artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced analytics, and how each is impacting the business.

• For “Security Solutions,” John-Thomas Gaietto, executive director of cybersecurity, and Michael Wiley, director of cybersecurity, for Richey May Technology Solutions, look at a variety of tools — cloud, production and general cyber hygiene — that can help Hollywood fight pirates and data thieves.

• In “New Workflows,” Ross French, senior director, and Alex Akers, manager of consulting, with KlarisIP, tackle how media companies must ensure both rights and descriptive data related to content are effectively shared with their business teams.

• In the area of “Smart Content,” Jesse Michelson, ad proxy technical lead for Verizon Media, examines how ad-supported streams can provide creators, distributors and advertisers with a wide range of valuable viewer data.

Beginning Thursday, Feb. 6, look for stories from the winter edition of the “M&E Journal” every week in the “M&E Daily” newsletter.
