VSI Acquires Latin American Localization Firm CIVISA Media

Localization specialist VSI Group has announced the acquisition of CIVISA Media, a dubbing, subtitling and production company based out of Buenos Aires.
One of the largest localization providers in Latin America, the new VSI CIVISA operates 20 recording and mixing rooms, along with several high-def edit suites. Founded in 1986, CIVISA gives VSI its first South American operation, serving clients such as Discovery Networks, Viacom and NBCUniversal, along with several major OTT platforms.
“VSI has partnered with CIVISA Media for more than 10 years, so this acquisition was a natural next step,” said Norman Dawood, founder and managing director of the VSI Group. “I am excited that VSI will finally have a major presence in Latin America, and in particular that my friend [CIVISA CEO] Guillermo Patiño-Mayer will continue to run this successful and highly-respected operation.”

CIVISA is the 24th studio in the VSI Group’s network of existing facilities which are located in major media hubs across the EMEA region and North America. VSI CIVISA will continue to offer dubbing, voice-over and subtitling in Spanish, with the ability to provide large volumes of localization services in the Latin American region.
