MarkLogic July 31 Webinar: How Sony Pictures Drives Value With Descriptive Metadata

At the May 23 HITS Spring event in Los Angeles, Jason Lambert, executive director of content licensing and metadata for Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Matt Turner, CTO of media and manufacturing for MarkLogic, walked attendees through Sony’s curated metadata experience.

On July 31, those who missed the conference breakout session will have another chance to hear Lambert share how Sony is investing in descriptive, time-based metadata, in order to better understand their content library, in the MESA-organized webinar “Sony Pictures: Driving Value with Descriptive Metadata.”

“You’re not going to get true digital transformation, you’re not going to get to this next place … unless you know where your data comes from and how you can use it,” Turner said at the HITS Spring event, and that’s the message Sony’s taken to heart, and what Lambert will discuss July 31, when he shares how the studio’s data-first approach has helped drive content discovery and re-use, and is becoming a key asset to deliver competitive business value, via cost reduction and targeted audience engagement.

Lambert and Turner will look at Sony’s data journey and how it’s using data to lead the digital transformation of the business. The webinar will also feature a MarkLogic Data Hub-powered demo.
