NAB 2019: Convergent Risks, Akamai Bring Cybersecurity Perspectives to Vegas

Two experts each from security, risk and compliance services firm Convergent Risks and content delivery network (CDN) services provider Akamai will present their thoughts on cybersecurity and content protection April 7, during the second-annual Cybersecurity & Content Protection Summit, being held at the Westgate Hotel during the NAB Show.

In “Reducing the Fog of Cyber Warfare,” Janice Pearson VP of global content protection, and Mathew Gilliat-Smith, advisor for Convergent Risks, will offer up details on a new incident response management platform, one that enables the rapid assessment, organization and management of malware threats, by centralizing incident data, evidence and communications and directing task allocation and duties.

The platform sees evidence of a breach securely uploaded, encrypted and immutably stored for analyst investigation, and is paired with an analysis toolkit feature of memory images and log files. An included executive statistics module provides customized event reports for managers, and the platform has need-to-know permission protocols for responders, while supporting virtual collaboration between geographically disparate specialists.

“The benefits mean a faster analysis and auto-recording of evidence in app. Incident response times are improved by speeding coordination and communication. Executive statistics saves time and improve visibility to support governance,” Gilliat-Smith said. “Centralizing information means duplication of effort and unnecessary briefings are mitigated.

“This is a step change from manual incident response systems.”

Also on the program are Jef Hu, solutions engineer, and Patrick Sullivan, security manager, for Akamai, who’ll look at major credential stuffing attacks and trends that targeted media and entertainment companies over the past year. They’ll highlight the key risks to businesses in the presentation “Credential Stuffing: Your Brand is at Risk.”

Co-produced by the NAB Show and the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA), the Content Protection & Cybersecurity Summit is presented by SafeStream by SHIFT, Akamai, IBM Security, Microsoft Azure, Convergent Risks, the Digital Watermarking Alliance, the Trusted Partner Network, and produced by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA), in cooperation with the NAB Show.
