MESA, MarkLogic Webinar Spotlights AI and the Future of Entertainment Data

A late-January webinar will take a long look at integrating data and applying artificial intelligence can help media and entertainment companies tackle data challenges.

The Jan. 23, 2019 webinar — “AI and the Future of Entertainment Data” — will see several experts discuss the current state of data integration, point to industry primers for major areas of AI, share real-world examples of AI helping to understand and explain industry trends, and lay the groundwork for making data an effective asset for the industry.

Beginning at 11 a.m. Pacific, the webinar is being hosted by MarkLogic and the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA), and will feature Yves Berquist, founder and CEO of Corto, and director of the AI and Neuroscience in Media Project at the Entertainment Technology Center at the University of Southern California; Matt Turner, CTO of Media for MarkLogic; and will be moderated by Guy Finley, president of MESA.

“Understanding data, and, more importantly, making effective use of data, remains a difficult task within the entertainment industry,” the webinar program reads. “There has been an explosion in sources of data and tools to gather it. But to actually use that data to drive the business, you need to apply new patterns to integrate the data and use new techniques to understand it.”
