Women in Technology: Hollywood Workshop to Focus on Networking

Upping your networking game will be the focus of the day Dec. 5 when the Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH) holds its latest workshop.

The WiTH Networking Skills Workshop — co-located with the Content Delivery & Security Association’s (CDSA) annual Content Protection Summit (CPS) in Marina del Rey, Calif. — kicks off at 4 p.m., and promises to help women conquer disadvantages they may face in the networking space (to register for CPS, click here):

The event begins with a presentation by Madeline Mann, director of people operations for Gem and founder of the “Self-Made Millennial” YouTube channel. Her discussion —”Networking in Today’s World: Tools for High-Impact Relationship Building” — will revolve around redefining networking goals, and will feature creative intros, how to perfect “fast networking,” and will teach attendees how to implement the “60 Seconds of Value” networking tactic.

Then, at 5:15 p.m., the panel “Your Network is your Net Worth” will feature industry power players discussing their success stories, and offering advice and tips on networking. Moderated by Mann, the panel will include Tami Holzman, author of “From C-Student to the C-Suite”; Diana Means, creative services, User Interface Group for Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and president, of the L.A. Women’s International Film Fest; Katherine Vogt, HR business partner for LinkedIn; and Toshino Yuhaku, a digital media executive and 20-year veteran of Sony Corporation.

The 2018 CDSA Content Protection Summit is presented by SafeStream, and sponsored by EdgeScan, Microsoft Azure, LiveTiles, Aspera, Amazon Web Services, Convergent Risks, Dolby, NAGRA, EIDR, the Trusted Partner Network (TPN), Videocites, Human-i-t, Telesoft and Bob Gold and Associates and is produced by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) in association with CDSA, the Hollywood IT Society (HITS), Smart Content Council and Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH).
