Verizon Digital Media Services, Unreel Entertainment Team on OTT

Verizon Digital Media Services has partnered with direct-to-consumer turnkey OTT solution provider Unreel Entertainment to help launch more than 100 new streaming services, including World Poker Tour, Level One, and the Enthusiast Network’s Adventure Sports Network.

Covering sports, news and gaming verticals, the branded OTT video streaming apps and online destinations also include VDMS customers Bonnier Corporation and Zazoom Media Group.

VDMS’ platform comprises a global content delivery network, video streaming services, along with compliance and monitoring services, collectively working to help broadcasters, content owners and service providers deliver OTT content at scale, the company said. The company’s Channel Schedule API stitches VOD content together to help form 24/7 ad-supported live channels that can be used within a branded app or online destination provided by Unreel.

“We are committed to simplifying the OTT content delivery ecosystem for broadcasters and content providers,” said Chris Carey, chief strategy officer for Verizon Digital Media Services. “Our customers can leverage Unreel to manage multiple apps and online destinations, syndicate more than 7 million videos into content streams, and distribute their own content to millions of viewers within Unreel’s OTT network.”

Unreel CEO Dan Goikhman added: “We’re proud and excited to work with Verizon Digital Media Services to offer our direct-to-consumer OTT publishing capabilities. Our robust offering gives content owners a faster path to global OTT distribution, along with a predictable revenue environment. It has never been easier to upload and promote continuous streams of content.”
