Caringo Features On-Prem, S3 Storage at NAB Show NYC 2018 (MESA)

Caringo today announced they will be at the NAB Show in New York City October 17–18, 2018, exhibiting in booth N1117. Caringo will be featuring their new on-prem, S3 storage appliance–the Caringo Swarm Single Server. The Swarm Single Server was announced last week as part of a landmark product release that touched every part of the Caringo Product suite.

The Caringo Swarm Single Server leverages Swarm’s unique pure-object approach and is targeted at Media & Entertainment (M&E) organizations, specifically post-production houses, studios, broadcasters and small enterprises. With the new single-server appliance, smaller organizations have a much lower cost of entry to the most-scalable, on-prem, object-storage solution.

The new Swarm Single Server reduces entry-level hardware requirements by 75% as it is a fully self-contained appliance that provides all the features of Caringo’s field-hardened Swarm hassle-free, limitless object storage. The Swarm Single Server includes 96 TBs of raw storage that can be racked or fit under a desk.

“It was clear that many M&E organizations wanted the instant access, search and S3 interface of cloud storage, but wanted to keep data secure within their network and didn’t want the on-going, compounding costs of the cloud,” said Ben Canter, Caringo Vice-President of Sales. “In the Swarm Single Server appliance, these organizations have a lower-cost entry point so they can start small and grow by plugging in additional appliances. Everything needed from storage capacity to content management, tenant management, search and delivery is built into a single server.”
