HITS Fall: Ooyala, Gracenote, TiVo Have Metadata on Mind

On Oct. 4 at the Hollywood Innovation & Technology Summit (HITS) Fall event in Los Angeles, data experts from Ooyala, Gracenote and TiVo will give attendees a better understanding of how data-driven solutions are impacting the media and entertainment industry.

Glen Sakata, product evangelist for Ooyala, Grant Cover, head of media for Gracenote, and Scott Maddux, VP of business development for TiVo, will all offer up data-centric presentations during the morning breakout session track “Metadata, Personalization and Assets.”

Here’s a look at what attendees can expect:

• “Transform Your Content Supply Chain with Smarter Metadata” sees Sakata share how metadata is being harnessed throughout the content supply chain, creating benefits at every stage, from pre-production and delivery to audience engagement and monetization. Sakata will emphasize how smarter metadata use and united processes make content production, content distribution, live streaming and digital video playout systems more efficient, resulting in greater ROI for stakeholders.

• Gracenote’s Cover will detail how data-driven solutions are crucial for empowering today’s creative community, in the presentation “Using Data-Driven Solutions to Develop the Next Big Hit.” Improved collaboration and streamlined workflows, as a result of better use of data, make for more commercially and critically successful content.

• “Is AI the Answer to IP Management and Rights Monetization?” has TiVo’s Maddux looking at how fragmentation is the new normal across the media ecosystem, with every corner of the industry impacted (talent, production, distribution, consumer, and more). Deep content analysis, scene-level metadata, and signal processing powered by AI are the keys for powering next-gen solutions.

In total more than 1,000 senior studio executives and their technology partners attended last year’s HITS Fall, making it the largest industry conference of the season in Los Angeles. HITS Fall will also host membership meetings and technology briefings for both the Trusted Partner Network (TPN) and Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR).

HITS Fall is sponsored by Amazon Web Services, Box, Microsoft Azure, Ooyala, TiVo, Cognizant, DXC Technology, Gracenote, LiveTiles, ThinkAnalytics, Wasabi, Aspera, EIDR, MicroStrategy, the Trusted Partner Network, human-I-T, Zaszou IT Consulting, OnPrem Solution Partners, and Bob Gold & Associates, and is produced by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA), in association with the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA), the Hollywood IT Society (HITS), the Smart Content Council and Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH).
