When the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and MarkLogic host the July 18 webinar “Smart Content Connecting the Data Behind the Hits with Sony Pictures,” Matt Turner, CTO of media and manufacturing for MarkLogic, hopes attendees come away with a unique perspective on what makes content “smart.”

The webinar will serve as an encore to Sony Pictures’ presentation from May’s HITS Spring event in Los Angeles, and along with Turner and Maxwell, will include Guy Finley, executive director of MESA, discussing the work Sony Pictures Entertainment has done by using content to data to streamline the distribution process, incorporating a new approach to managing release packaging, billing data and tackling other key data projects.
Using MarkLogic’s Enterprise NoSQL and the Operational Data Hub pattern solutions, the studio has shown how enterprise data projects can integrate data from mainframes and legacy systems to fulfill the promise of Smart Content.
