Wasabi Technologies Adds Hollywood Vet Fenton to Advisory Board (HITS)

Cloud storage tech firm Wasabi Technologies has added Hollywood industry vet Chris Fenton to its advisory board, tapping the former president and North American GM of production company DMG Entertainment for insights into storage solutions for entertainment professionals.

Fenton has had a hand in the production and supervisions of nearly two dozen films, including “Point Break,” “Iron Man 3,” and “47 Ronin,” and during his tenure with DMG, the Beverly Hills, Calif.-based company grew from 35 employees to more than 800.

“Wasabi is a simple-concept, high-growth tech company founded and run by the management team that built Carbonite into a billion dollar-plus company. Climbing aboard was a no-brainer for me,” Fenton said.

David Friend, CEO and co-founder of Wasabi, said the addition of Fenton will give his company a leg up as more companies compete for the growing storage needs of the media and entertainment industry.

“With the addition of Chris as an advisor, we now have a highly-respected media executive able to open doors for Wasabi,” he said. “This will allow us to tap into decision makers in this sector and share how hot cloud storage dramatically changes the business model of media and entertainment businesses. We look forward to working with Chris for his invaluable insight into this burgeoning industry.”
