MESA’s Latest ‘M&E Journal’ Edition Goes Live

The 2018 spring-summer edition of the “M&E Journal,” published by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA), and geared toward senior media and entertainment executives who oversee their companies’ digital futures, is now available online.

The 100-page production features insights from more than 20 MESA members, from 3rd I QC to Zaszou, with the issue’s special section focused on the data transparency issues facing the media and entertainment industry today.

Broken up in three industry areas — “Data & Analytics,” “Smart Content” and “New Workflows”— the “M&E Journal” also features columns from Bob Gold & Associates, the Trusted Partner Network and Sony Pictures Entertainment, along with thought pieces from MESA’s executive leadership.

Here’s a brief look at what’s included in each section:

• A special section on “The Age of Data Transparency” sees M&E experts discuss the implications of biometric data around virtual and augmented reality applications, and the impact of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), for both consumers and entertainment companies.

• In “Data & Analytics” Ian Cameron and Daniel Mayer with Expert System Enterprise look at the opportunities artificial intelligence offers as M&E companies adjust to changing consumer consumption patterns and emerging distribution services.

• In “New Workflows” FilmTrack’s Michael McGuire makes the case for a central repository for contracts and rights management services.

• In “Smart Content,” Avanade’s Jukka Paajanen tackles the various ways media and entertainment companies can take advantage of AI applications.

Beginning Tuesday, June 4, look for stories from the spring-summer edition of the “M&E Journal” every week in the “M&E Daily” newsletter.
