NAB Show: Securing Pre-Release Content in the Cloud Discussed April 8 at Cyber Summit

The importance of forensic watermarking and having all your content security tools available in the cloud will be discussed by Gabriel Cantin, product manager for NAGRA, April 8 at the Cyber Security & Content Protection Summit, during the NAB Show in Las Vegas.

Increasingly the content industry has moved its post-production workflows and distribution of premium content to cloud or hybrid cloud environments, and Cantin’s presentation — “Securing Your Pre-Release Workflow in the Cloud” — will look at how forensic watermarking is deployed in cloud workflows for post-production, screening and online distribution.

“A leak of pre-release content disrupts a content owner’s marketing activities and has a significant impact on theatrical and home entertainment revenue,” Cantin said. “I hope that
attendees will come away with a good understanding of the complementary technologies (IT, encryption, watermarking) used to secure pre-release workflows, and that forensic
watermarking is a key component to trace back a leak to its source.”

His presentation will look at media and entertainment industry feedback on the value proposition for working in the cloud, the technologies available to track a leak back to its
source, and will present watermarking solutions to secure each step of the pre-release workflow in the cloud.

The half-day, inaugural Cyber Security event will provide technology and business updates on cybersecurity and anti-piracy initiatives in both film and television, and is being produced by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA), in cooperation with the NAB Show.

The 2018 Cyber Security & Content Protection Summit event will address the unique content protection needs of TV broadcasters, with sessions on protecting major live event broadcasts, the latest broadcast cybersecurity and vendor systems, software and services, protecting journalists in the field, the current state of broadcast signal intrusion, and more.

Other topics to be tackled include the auditing of third-party vendors, securing cloud production, turning pirates into paying customers, hardening workflows, and protecting against ransomware.

Microsoft Azure, BTI Studios, Dolby, NAGRA the Digital Watermarking Alliance and Convergent Risk are sponsoring the event, which is produced by MESA in cooperation with the NAB Show.
