MESA Smart Content Summits Return to Both Coasts in 2018

The Media & Entertainment Services Alliances (MESA) 2018 Event Calendar kicks off in late February and early March with two back-to-back, coast-to-coast Smart Content Summits. The association’s February 27th event at the Luxe Hotel on Sunset Boulevard in LA, followed by its NYC event at the Microsoft Technology Center on March 8, will both focus on providing the latest learnings on Data & Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Metadata.

Now in its fifth year, the Smart Content Summit (East and West) will provide an annual, market-specific update on best practices, industry data initiatives and tools that studios, broadcasters and their business partners are using to make their content more identifiable, accessible and useable.

This year’s conference program will also feature the 5th Annual Metadata Madness Luncheon, which features industry associations working with all forms of metadata in a lightning round series of initiative updates.

“Executives in New York and LA have their own perspectives on how smart content is transforming the way their media & entertainment is produced, stored and distributed,” says MESA Executive Director Guy Finley. “Every year these Summits explore the latest advancements in this third-era of content delivery – one where intelligence is being embedded alongside audio/video to streamline productions and supply chains, while delivering unprecedented marketing data and analytics.”

Conference Chairs for Smart Content Summit East and West include Nona Janssen Walls, Senior Vice President, Data Analytics, Lionsgate, Jason Lambert, Executive Director, Content Licensing & Metadata, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Mary Yurkovic, Director, MESA’s Smart Content Council.

Program topics and case studies will include:

-Advancements in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Media & Entertainment
-The Role of Content, Data and APIs in the Internet of Things
-Metadata Madness: Adopting and Implementing an Industry-wide Metadata Schema
