WiTH Event to Run with Dec. 6 Content Protection Summit in L.A.

The Dec. 6 Content Protection Summit (CPS) being held at the Marina del Rey Marriott will also see the next Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH) workshop, this time with the theme “Unpacking Unconscious Bias to Advance Your Career.”

Running 4-6 p.m., the co-located event will take attendees through a series of speakers and studies that aim to help participants see their own unconscious biases, with research showing that the unconscious biases women adhere to in some career-making decisions usually fall into some basic assumptions: “do it all, look good and be nice,” according to the event program. “Unconscious bias is often the silent killer of women’s leadership success and continues to hold women back in their careers.”

Kelly Watson, managing partner with Orange Grove Consulting, will lead the conversation, with the hope that attendees will come away with lessons on how flawed assumptions limit options, and ideas on how to make better career decisions.

The Content Protection Summit is produced by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA), presented by MediaSilo, and sponsored by Independent Security Evaluators, Aspera, the Digital Watermarking Alliance, Menlo Security, Microsoft Azure, NAGRA, NexGuard, Convergent Risks, HGST, PwC, Thinklogical, Amazon Web Services and Bob Gold & Associates.
