Manager, Content Security

Overview and Responsibilities

Paramount Pictures Corporation (PPC), a global producer and distributor of filmed entertainment, is a unit of Viacom, a leading content company with prominent and respected film, television and digital entertainment brands. Paramount controls a collection of some of the most powerful brands in filmed entertainment, including Paramount Pictures, Paramount Animation, Paramount Vantage, Paramount Classics, Insurge Pictures, MTV Films, and Nickelodeon Movies. PPC operations also include Paramount Famous Productions, Paramount Home Media Distribution, Paramount Pictures International, Paramount Licensing Inc., and Paramount Studio Group.

This position is an essential component of the implementation and operations of Paramount’s Content Security efforts. As such, this role will partner closely with all areas of the Content Security team to implement, review, and assess compliance with established content security policies.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • Conduct content security assessments of vendors and other partners. Reviewing compliance around physical security, digital security, organizational security, and related processes
  • Support all aspects of the security assessments, including planning, fieldwork, reporting and archiving
  • Evaluate and test vendor workflows, processes, and controls and identify areas of risk
  • Manage vendor assessment remediation projects and revalidation of security compliance
  • Operate and maintain records of vendor security assessments via a security management tool
  • Liaise with vendors and internal partners to identify, report, and remediate risks related to content security
  • Support assessments of internal departments handling content to ensure the proper security controls and procedures are in place
  • Support content security reviews of local/domestic feature and television productions
  • Enable the implementation and enforcement of Paramount security policies through escalation to appropriate management and tracking of outcomes and timelines
  • Manage the Content Security online training program; launch new campaigns, follow up with outstanding trainees, ensure compliance, and track issues and areas for improvement
  • Support increased digital security testing and content protection technology/anti-piracy testing
  • Function as an integral member of Paramount Content Protection team comprised of Legal, Technology, and Operations
  • Occasionally work non-standard shifts and/or on-call to support the requirements of the organization
  • Travel will be required

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years relevant Content Security/Information Security experience
  • Experience in Pre-Production and Post-Production of Film and Television
  • Experience in Production and Editorial Technology
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field

Additional Qualifications

Desired skills:

  • Must have strong communication (written and verbal) and listening skills
  • Experience auditing management systems, physical security, and digital security protocols at facilities
  • Thorough knowledge and technical skills around current and developing content security/anti-piracy technology, industry standards and regulations
  • Thorough knowledge of feature film production and post-production industries, services, and workflows (e.g., DI, editing, visual/audio effects, encoding, dubbing, DVD/BD replication)–
  • Able to maintain awareness of trends and developments in the area of media security
  • Able to learn and retain new skills as required supporting a continually changing technical environment
  • Able to communicate at a technical level with technical professionals, as well as communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical management
  • Certifications in one of more of the following – CISSP, CISM, CISA, CPP, CRISC, CEH, ITIL
