The TWDC Intellectual Property Protection (IPP) group serves as a centre of excellence for enterprise and segment specific requirements relating to the proactive protection of the company’s most sensitive assets (IP). The group embeds resources within segments that creative highly valuable IP, and coordinates with segment staff in order to design, implement, managem and optimize programs specific to these segment requirements and business objectives.

Responsibilities

The role reports into the VP, TWDC Information Protection (Global Security) based in Burbank, CA. The role is responsible providing direction and strategy for all TWDC IPP programs, and ensuring that segment executive staff remain informed of existing and emerging threats relating to Intellectual Property. The position works closely with segment and enterprise security groups in order to ensure alignment with existing company-wide security objectives, and serves as the primary IPP services liaison throughout TWDC.

Overall responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership of enterprise TWDC Intellectual Property Protection programs
  • Provision of clear, concise metrics, analytics and reporting of segment risk posture to senior executive staff
  • Partnership and alignment with enterprise security organizations and their respective requirements
  • Management of TWDC segment Intellectual Property Protection personnel, both domestic and international

Specific responsibilities

  • Manages TWDC IPP staff in a direct and matrix team structure, and provides leadership to support complex and ever-evolving operational requirements
  • Establishes key performance indicators and proactively reports to TWDC & segment executive stakeholders on performance of Intellectual Property Protection activities and metrics
  • Prepares reports and performance metrics relating to IPP programs to senior management, stakeholders and business unit security advocates
  • Maintains programs in accordance with Disney enterprise and Media & Entertainment industry requirements
    • Leads TWDC IPP related workflow mapping and related policy and procedural documentation management
    • Leads TWDC internal and third-party IPP awareness training program activities and oversees coordination with appropriate business units
    • Leads TWDC internal and third party audit programs relating to Intellectual Property Protection, ensuring that the level of effort for each assessment is commensurate with the sensitivity of information and/or content to be shared
  • Provides expert-level analysis of alternatives, design and implementation plans, and recommendations supported by strong research skills and provided through strong communication skills
  • Supervises and reviews updates to Intellectual Property Protection policies, architecture, standards, and/or other technical documents
  • Stays abreast of latest industry developments in the Intellectual Property Protection area
  • Represents the TWDC IPP organization’s security compliance interests in all matters: with partners, suppliers, and industry associations to ensure the bi-directional flow of technical information and best practices in the area of Intellectual Property Protection
  • Continuous improvement of processes within the TWDC IPP team, internal teams, and 3rd Parties

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years experience in information management, information security, business process analytics

Skills / Specialized Knowledge / Competencies

  • Experience in creating, maintaining and executing enterprise class audit and risk assessment services
  • Creation, refinement of auditable control frameworks & related documentation (policies, procedures)
  • Asset classification, asset inventory and correlated risk management planning
  • Strategic planning relating to risk management programs
  • Intellectual Property asset related risk event management, risk registry management
  • Intra-organizational project & program management experience
  • Understanding of motion picture onset and post production environments and workflows
  • Experience in the design, development & distribution of content / information security training & awareness campaigns
  • Creation of high quality executive reporting (metrics & analytics) relating to IP Protection program services

Preferred Qualifications

  • Media & entertainment, intellectual property protection, content security

Required Education

  • 4 year degree

  • CISSP, CISM, CISA
