This position will be part of The Walt Disney Company Global Security department and will be located at Lucasfilm corporate headquarters, with local reporting to the Head of Lucasfilm Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the overall strategic planning and implementation of Lucasfilm’s risk reduction standards and procedures.
  • Identifies significant security risks, designs and/or implements strategies and programs to safeguard employees as well as prevent and reduce loss to the company’s physical and intellectual assets.
  • Leverages Global Security and external resources to conduct threat and risk evaluations for all territories being considered for physical production including development of appropriate life/safety and asset protection plans.
  • In collaboration with Lucasfilm Technology, Disney Global Security and Walt Disney Studios’ Piracy Management team develops and maintains physical security standards, processes and tools employed during pre-production, principal photography, and post production to ensure personal safety of cast, crew, visitors, and protection of intellectual property, and other production related assets.
  • Manage Security education, training and awareness with the intended goal of ensuring all production staff, new employees, temporary staff and contractors embrace security as a shared and common responsibility.
  • Collaborates with internal Lucasfilm Production, Technology and Walt Disney Studios’ Piracy Management teams to ensure that digital security standards, processes and tools are employed during the pre-production, principal photography, and post-production phases to provide appropriate levels of protection of all digital assets.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate levels of reporting for all Lucasfilm Production Security initiatives and distributes reports to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Continually partners with entertainment and security industry leaders in the development of emerging best practices to properly support production security requirements.
  • Defines, manages, and oversees the breach response process in the event of any production related security breach.
  • Manages required investigations (e.g., IP lead or location breach) from initiation through resolution in partnership with Physical Security, Anti-Piracy Legal and Production teams.
  • Provides appropriate support to Lucasfilm anti-piracy strategies based on overall production security program, liaising with the company’s key anti-piracy stakeholders and relevant external agencies, where necessary.
  • Successfully accomplishes department objectives by establishing action plans, timetables, and outcome measurements; obtaining and allocating resources; while partnering with internal and external teams, as appropriate.
  • Achieve financial goals by establishing objectives; developing and monitoring budgets; controlling and reducing costs where possible.
  • Developing strong working relationships in global law enforcement and data security departments across the company with the intent of providing Lucasfilm Production with flexible and effective controls.
  • Oversees the location site security practices including life safety and emergency response planning for campuses and production locations.
  • Partner with the various Disney Security teams (Physical, Content Protection, Corporate) to ensure all Lucasfilm Production security practices are current and in alignment with compliance needs.
  • Integrate with Production such that workflow and tools recommendations are timely and relevant to Production needs.
  • Ensures new third party vendors that will handle confidential assets adhere to Content Protection Site Security Standards. Assists in follow up and remediation as necessary.
  • Oversees various security audits both physical and digital to ensure best practices are being followed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven track record of managing and developing employees.
  • Minimum 10 – 15 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility within the security and entertainment fields including 5 years of experience leading a comparable sized organization
  • Entertainment industry production security experience required
  • Production content protection experience required
