Job Description: SUMMARY/POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Digital Asset Management drives the roadmap and evolution of the Digital Asset Management / Media Asset Management (DAM/MAM) solution including strategic development priorities, global governance, and best practices related to taxonomy, metadata, tagging, workflows and permissions.

This role will drive asset strategy, content decentralization, personalization strategy and implementation, and customer / end-user (internal) experience driven digital initiatives. This position will lead digital project implementation and the management of our digital product/content management system development. Collaborating closely with project team members, this role will understand the needs of and advise development teams on the design, implementation and scaling of products and services to maximize the customer value offer and drive customer engagement and growth.

This person will have primary responsibility for and administration of the ongoing development, integration, growth and use of the (DAM/MAM) system in support of the company’s digital media goals. They will lead the team of media specialists who will be responsible for development and maintaining workflows, policy writing, governance, metadata and taxonomy. This role is responsible for the business case for evolving and governing MAM tools and platforms.

Experience and Skills: PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Acting as lead on the implementation of digital content projects, asset workflow support, training materials, SOPs and organizing escalation and production flows; developing processes and enhancements to ensure digital asset (and data) production is optimized, adhering to high-quality standards.
* Identifying and triaging issues with I.T. partners; leading, coaching and developing team members.
* This role will collaborate closely with internal teams, cross-functional partners including digital producers, digital designers, sales & licensing, marketing, as well as technical staff in IT and Broadcast Engineering.
* Responsible for leading overall strategy, implementation and workflow of the Media Asset Management system for INSP.
* Development and management of department level budget.
* Acts as primary liaison between INSP departments that create, sell, monetize, and market, video assets.
* Responsible for designing an appropriate metadata workflow for assets to ensure the entire company can find assets and their related components stored in other systems.
* Manages the Media Asset platform and leads staff that facilitates the uploading of assets, maintaining and upgrading the system, and manages the business logic of connections between systems.
* Facilitates retrieval of current and archived assets.
* Understands video asset management concepts and various ecosystems.
* Guides the maintenance of accurate procedures and records for the system.
* Keeps informed of latest Digital Asset Management technology trends and innovations.
* Other duties as identified and assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

* 5 years of Digital Asset Management
* 4 year BS degree – Ideal candidates have/are in the process of obtaining a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (from an ALA-accredited institution), or bachelors in Archival Studies, Media Studies, Photography, Video or a related field
* Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent project management skills
* Curate digital content for syndication
