Content Security Analyst

Role Purpose

The Creative Content Protection team under the Corporate Legal umbrella supports all of NBC Universal’s content globally with (1) security procedures across the supply chain, (2) Digital Fingerprinting of all NBCUniversal owned content, (3) monitoring & takedown services for digital theft platforms and (4) business intelligence services to measure the demand and supply sides of piracy.

The Content Security Analyst will be responsible for the day to day forensic analysis of all of NBCUniversals pirated content and develop detailed knowledge and understanding of the pirate ecosystems to create and distribute reports on incidents and patterns of piracy on a regular basis. This position also requires the generation of weekly, monthly and quarterly metrics for the Content Security & Technology team. Will also be involved with evaluating latest technologies and applications that are used to acquire, distribute and consume pirated content.

This position will require someone with that has a real eye for detail and can tell a story based on the data that they are observing and must have great communication skills to be able to get the message across.

Responsibilities

Create and send notifications of all new piracy sources to key personnel

Ensure that all forensics records are complete and metadata is accurate

Research and analyze data and create reports from multiple internal and external sources and synthesize it into insightful, clear and comprehensive findings

Respond to anti-piracy related data analysis and reporting requests

Evaluate and advise on new and improved technologies or methods used for acquisition, distribution and consumption of pirated content

Develop project timelines and manage project deliverables for several key security initiatives.

Recommend applications and best security practices to facilities while providing guidance and assistance with such applications.

Coordinate and schedule internal meetings with members of Content Security, Film Security, Technology Security and other internal business partners to review status of key security initiatives.

Coordinate and schedule security engagements with 3rd party vendors

Gather requirements, scope and test different options, and implement a new process and reporting system for managing vendor assessments

Review security assessments, record findings in reporting system, report out to the team on findings and raise awareness of critical issues

Clean up vendor data discrepancies and research vendor information to make sure all data is accurate, recent and relevant.

In coordination with Content Security, Film Security and Technology Security, develop remediation plans for each vendor based on assessment findings.

Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Data Analytics or 3 years equivalent experience

Experience with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the cyber security field.

Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Characteristics

Familiarity with standard security frameworks such as MPAA Content Security Program and ISO standards.

Familiarity with intrusion detection and prevention technologies, digital security safeguards such as encryption, password protocols, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing

Familiarity with anti-piracy technologies and methodologies such as fingerprinting, watermarking, DRM, encrypted HLS

Familiarity with secure file transfer technologies and Security Incident and Event Management technologies

Strong and effective communicator, both verbally and written, with ability to interface with various departments of the company, as well as outside vendors and contractors.

Possess good organizational, analytical and problem solving ability.

Detail oriented with proven ability to orchestrate and execute multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment using resources effectively and efficiently.

Proven ability to work independently with little to no direction and maintain a strong focus on business priorities and be persistent in follow-through.
