Joel is the Chief Security Officer for Box where he is responsible for information and physical security for Box. Prior to Box, Joel spent 7 years at Citigroup in various roles. He was the Global Head of Threat Management and Cyber Intelligence for Citigroup where he was responsible for the identification of emerging threats while developing both tactical and strategic responses to those threats, and managing any incidents that occurred. Previously, Joel was the Head of Security Architecture and Engineering for Citigroup’s Global Consumer Business where he was responsible for all information security technology for the Global Consumer business, which covered over 150,000 employees and hundreds of millions of customer accounts. Before Citigroup,Joel served in Security roles at Securify Inc. and Stanford University. He was recognized as a HiTEC Top IT Executive in 2012 and has had his work profiled in several national publications. Joel attended Stanford University where he majored in Economics and German Studies with a minor in Computer Science.
