Steve Fastook, Senior Vice President of Technical and Commercial Operations, CNBC
Steven Fastook is Senior Vice President of Technical and Commercial Operations at CNBC responsible for the worldwide operations of the network. In this role, Fastook has advanced the use of tapeless technology and created the first-ever totally digital process at CNBC.
Fastook joined NBC in 1986 as a Design Engineer and soon moved to WNBC News 4 where he worked as Manager of News & Technical Operations. He next served as Director of Brooklyn Studios for NBC’s East Coast Entertainment division where he was responsible for “Another World.” Fastook was then promoted to Director, Entertainment Studios and then Director, News and Entertainment Studios for NBC responsible for the productions of “Today,” “Saturday Night Live,” “The Rosie O’Donnell Show,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “Dateline” and “NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw.” In 1999, Fastook assumed the role of Vice President, Studio Operations and Designworks.
Fastook began his television career at Kean University in 1982 where he began the process of constructing the University’s first television studio.
Fastook is the recipient of more than nine Emmy Awards given in recognition of his creativity, innovation and leadership in the fields of television entertainment and sports by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He was also awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degree by Kean University in May, 2006.
