HITS Spring to See EP’s Mazor Examine CISOs and Security

When the annual HITS Spring: The Hollywood Innovation & Technology Summit returns to Los Angeles on May 17, Martin Mazor, chief information security officer for Entertainment Partners, will offer attendees a new looks at what CISOs are confronted with today when it comes to data security.

His presentation — “Mission Critical: CISOs’ Endless Quest for Data Security” — begins at 11:30 a.m. and leads off the “Cloud, Compliance & Security” portion of the day’s breakout sessions.

Mazor said that companies need to begin taking a multi-pronged approach to data security, and he’ll look at how companies are developing and executing an application testing strategy, and integrating into the development lifecycle.

“CISO’s are eternally trying to stay ahead of the next new threat and risk. A sound proactive defensive strategy will implement preventative measures that are primarily automated for a consistent strong posture. In this session we will walk through three key defensive capabilities and discuss how they are part of an enterprise defensive strategy,” he said.

Mazor won’t be the only Entertainment Partners executive on hand at HITS Spring: to kick off the conference, Davida Lara, EVP of payroll for the company, will offer up welcome remarks, and at 9:15 a.m., Patrick Baca, CTO of the company, will take part in the panel discussion “Advanced Technology in Production: Work in Progress.”

Additionally, Dan Satterthwaite, chief human resources officer for Entertainment Partners, will handle introduction duties for Dave Abbitt, VP of production accounting at Fox21 Television Studios, for the presentation “It’s About Time: A Case Study on Production Going Digital.”

HITS Spring expects to see several hundred senior studio technology leaders gathering for the 9th annual “reality check” on the key trends transforming the way content is being produced, distributed and consumed.

HITS Spring is produced by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and the Hollywood IT Society (HITS), in association with Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH); the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) and the Smart Content Council. The event is being presented by Entertainment Partners, with sponsorship by Expert System, LiveTiles, Microsoft Azure, Ooyala, Veritone, Amazon Web Services, Avanade, Avid, IBM Security, MarkLogic, Aspera, Light Point Security, MicroStrategy, SAS, Scaeva Technologies, Western Digital, Brainstorm, Zaszou IT Consulting and Bob Gold & Associates.
