HITS Spring WiTH Keynoter to Talk ‘Solving for Happy’

When the annual HITS Spring: The Hollywood Innovation & Technology Summit returns to Los Angeles on May 17, Mo Gawdat, founder of the One Billion Happy initiative and former chief business officer of Google X, will deliver a special keynote during the Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH) portion of the program.

His presentation — “Find Your Moonshot and Engineer Your Path to Joy” — will look at how Gawdat applies his logic and problem-solving skills discovering happiness, an endeavor he began first tackling in 2001. His engineer approach, using provable facts and applying logic, to discover a path to happiness, became even more focused after the death of his son several years ago.

“By the end of the session the audience will understand why happiness is so pivotal not only to their own individual success, but also to the survival of our species,” Gawdat said. “They will understand that happiness is predictable and can be produced through pragmatic logic and steps. It’s very likely that by the end of the session they will feel happier and know what it takes to stay happy.”

His algorithm is based on the Google X strategy of delivering a radical, ten-fold improvement. And his WiTH keynote at HITS will explore his latest Solve for Happy initiative, which questions the fundamental aspects of our existence, examines the underlying reasons for suffering, and plots out a step-by-step process for achieving lifelong happiness.

HITS Spring expects to see more than 700 senior studio technology leaders gathering for the 9th annual “reality check” on the key trends transforming the way content is being produced, distributed and consumed.

HITS Spring is produced by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and the Hollywood IT Society (HITS), in association with Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH); the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) and the Smart Content Council. The event is being presented by Entertainment Partners, with sponsorship by Expert System, LiveTiles, Microsoft Azure, Ooyala, Veritone, Amazon Web Services, Avanade, Avid, IBM Security, MarkLogic, Aspera, Light Point Security, MicroStrategy, SAS, Scaeva Technologies, Western Digital, Brainstorm, Zaszou IT Consulting and Bob Gold & Associates.
