NAB Show 2018: Cyber Security & Content Protection Summit Hits Las Vegas April 8

The Cyber Security & Content Protection Summit, produced by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA), comes to the NAB Show in Las Vegas on April 8, at the Westgate Hotel, with a half-day event providing technology and business updates on cybersecurity and anti-piracy initiatives in both the film and TV industries.

The 2018 event will address the unique content protection needs of TV broadcasters, with sessions on protecting major live event broadcasts, the latest broadcast cybersecurity and vendor systems, software and services, protecting journalists in the field, the current state of broadcast signal intrusion, and more.

The keynote of the day — “Defending Against Disinformation and Social Media Manipulation” — will be delivered by Jonathon Morgan, CEO of New Knowledge, who will offer advice on how news and entertainment companies can protect themselves and their consumers from misinformation campaigns that employ both paid advertisements and viral propaganda to exert influence.

“Whether it’s film, subscription or broadcast TV, media & entertainment is a high-level target for global piracy,” said CDSA president Martin Porter. “CDSA’s Summit series is where experts who protect our industry’s most valuable assets, our content, learn, network and share best practices.”

The Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) is a 45-year old non-profit association responsible for content protection and cybersecurity standards, best practices, audit programs and education services for the film & television communities.   Its conference programs are developed under the direction of its Board and Content Advisors, which include senior security executives from the following content creators: Amazon Studios, Amblin Entertainment, AMC Networks, Bad Robot, BBC Worldwide, HBO, Hulu, Legendary Entertainment, Marvel Studios, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Open Road Films, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, STX Entertainment, The Walt Disney Studios, Turner, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros. Entertainment.

Other topics to be tackled include the auditing of third-party vendors, securing cloud production, turning pirates into paying customers, hardening workflows, and protecting against ransomware.

Microsoft Azure and NAGRA will be sponsoring the event. For more information, visit mesalliance.org/conferences/cdsa-nab-2018, or to register click here.
