MediaSilo, Wiredrive Rebrand as SHIFT

In February 2017, video sharing tech company MediaSilo and file-sharing platform firm Wiredrive merged, creating one of the largest video collaboration SaaS providers in the business.

A year later, the combined companies have announced a new brand identity: SHIFT. And it’s the perfect name for a company set on changing how content creators develop and deliver their work, according to Kai Pradel, CEO of SHIFT, previously CEO of MediaSilo.

“We’ve talked to hundreds of execs and creatives across entertainment and advertising and they all say the same thing: It’s not the same industry it was even five years ago,” he said. “Everyone is under intense pressure to work faster, and produce more, and mind margins, while ensuring that content is protected and accounted for at all times.”

That means offering solutions that streamline the process of sharing and securing creative assets, making available tools that can be used across agencies, brands and post-production, Pradel added.

“Our customers have been asking for products that are beautiful, adaptable, secure by default, and easy enough for users of any technical level to intuit, and we aim to provide that with our next-generation tools that we’ll be previewing at NAB [in April].”

The SHIFT brand will cover four flagship products: MediaSilo, the set of tools for secure video collaboration and pre-release content delivery to the post-production market; Wiredrive, used by agencies and creative professionals to review, curate and share content; SafeStream, an on-demand and real-time forensic watermarking service; and Screeners.com, a secure destination for the previewing of pre-release content.

“SHIFT reflects the changes we see happening in the industry today,” Pradel said. “We are in the middle of a massive transformation in the media landscape, and as advisors and vendors we have front row seats. This means we are in a unique position to provide solutions that support content creators of tomorrow.”
