• A case study on Groupe AB — an independent producer and distributor of French-language content in Europe and Africa — shared that its adoption of Aspera Faspex On Demand high-speed file delivery technology (running on Microsoft Azure) “drastically reduced the overall turnaround time of receiving and airing content.”

• During the Nov. 8 webinar “On-the-Fly Watermarking with NexGuard and Aspera,” the two companies have partnered up to help both studios and content creators quickly watermark and deliver assets across distribution channels quickly, with the goal of both fighting and reducing processing times.

A MESA report (link “report” to https://www.mesaonline.org/2017/11/08/aspera-nexguard-watermarkings-increasingly-important-not-solutions-created-equal/) on the webinar noted that the NexGuard-Aspera solution applies a watermark to a company’s assets the moment recipients begins downloading content, with ProRes HD 422 (all profiles) in MOV, XDCAM HD 422 in MXF, H264/MPEG4 AVC in MP4 among the supported formats.

New Aspera product updates include:

-Aspera Drive 3.1.0, which adds support for Aspera Shares 2.0.
-Aspera Command-Line Interface 3.7.6, which adds new options for transfers done via other Aspera applications.
