SDI Media Names Simms CIO

Content services provider SDI Media has added former Condé Nast International CTO Natalie Simms as its new CIO, giving the long-time industry vet oversight of SDI’s global IT functions, covering everything from digital asset management to cloud-based systems.

Simms, who served as CTO at Condé Nast International for more than five years, brings more than two decades of experience to the role, previously serving as CIO of the Eversheds Sutherland international law firm, and as CIO of the Disney/ABC International Television Group.

“We live in a world where demand for global content is immediate,” said SDI Media CEO Mark Howorth, in a statement. “To provide our clients the ability to achieve these tight timelines, we have not only invested in our systems but also in the leadership to develop them. We are very fortunate to have Natalie bring her experience to SDI Media as we continue optimizing the global infrastructure of our facilities.”

SDI Media CTO Scott Rose added that Simms’ experience in developing new solutions in the IT space makes her a valuable addition to the company. Simms served as CEO of K-Cloud, a London-based IT services firm she co-founded in 2009.

“SDI Media has always been committed to applying technology solutions to the unique workflows that arise in our highly dynamic industry,” Rose said. “Localization is both local and global. To best service our clients we have to have the personal touch of a boutique and the power of an enterprise. Natalie has extensive experience in both settings – which makes her a strong asset in our mission to optimize the experience of connecting our customers’ content to their intended audiences.”

Simms added: “I am thrilled to be joining Mark, Scott, and the talented global team at SDI Media. SDI Media has an ambitious plan to provide clients an even greater service offering and I look forward to getting started straightaway on achieving that goal.”
