Okta, Preempt Integrations Help Enterprises Simplify ID Verification to Tackle Threats in Real-Time (CDSA)

Behavioral firewall company Preempt has announced technology integrations with Okta, the independent provider of identity for the enterprise. These integrations allow customers to seamlessly integrate Okta Single Sign-On (SSO) and Okta Adaptive Multi-Factor Authentication (AMFA) with the Preempt Behavioral Firewall and Preempt Any App.  These native integrations, which can typically be configured in less than ten minutes, help security teams gain better contextual intelligence on user behavior and automatically verify user identity in real-time through multi-factor authentication when suspicious behavior is detected.

“Adaptive real-time response is one of the pillars of our solution,” said Ajit Sancheti, co-founder and CEO of Preempt. “With these Okta integrations, not only can we integrate Okta SSO data to gain better context on user behavior, but we can seamlessly provide Okta AMFA within Preempt’s solution in real-time. This approach allows our customers to take a more proactive approach that allows users to self-verify their identity while at the same time providing relief to over-stressed security teams who don’t have the time to follow up instantly on every incident.”

Preempt protects enterprises from security breaches and malicious insiders with an innovative and patented solution that detects and immediately responds to security threats. Preempt’s user behavior analytics can detect risky behavior as it is happening, such as privileged account abuse and insider misuse, and then can automatically challenge the user to verify identity with multi-factor authentication through Okta AMFA. The user engaged in the process can then confirm their action and, as a result, be granted or denied access.

“Security is a top priority for businesses today as we have more people with more data and in more places than ever before,” said Chuck Fontana, Vice President of Corporate and Business Development at Okta. “Okta’s cloud-based identity and access management acts as a critical layer for managing access to that information – and now, thanks to these integrations with Okta SSO, AMFA and Preempt’s user behavior analytics, we’re together able to provide quick detection – helping our joint customers prevent malicious attacks and insider threats.”

The integration between Preempt and Okta’s Single Sign-On (SSO) allows organizations to extend these same threat detection and adaptive response capabilities to their web and cloud-based applications. The Okta SSO connector allows Preempt to track and learn user behavior on any application that uses Okta SSO. This provides staff with a unified view of a user’s behavior both when they are on site as well as when connected to cloud applications.

Native integration between Okta SSO and Okta AMFA with Preempt Behavioral Firewall and Preempt Any App is available immediately. Demonstrations of the integrations will be on display at Oktane17 in Las Vegas Aug. 28-30.
