AT&T Debuts DirecTV Now-Driven Tablet (SSN)

AT&T Aug. 25 will street a new tablet, dubbed Primetime, for $200, with the company pushing its own DirecTV Now service as part of the deal.

The 10-inch tablet comes pre-packaged with numerous video apps, including both DirecTV and DirecTV Now. AT&T is offering the tablet for $10 a month for 20 months, or for $29.99 if customers sign up for a two-year contract.

“Whether you’re at home or on-the-go, the AT&T Primetime tablet offers an entertainment-first experience at a very affordable price,” said Kevin Petersen, SVP of device and network services marketing for AT&T. “Not only is this tablet priced competitively, but it is also packed with some of the latest and greatest audio and video features designed to deliver premium entertainment that is just one-touch away.”

The tablet features a dual Bluetooth media stream function, that allows users to listen to two Bluetooth headsets or speakers simultaneously; up to 11 hours of battery life; dual front-facing speakers with Dolby audio; built-in Google Docs; split screen features; and support for on-device encryption.
