NAB 2017: MediaSilo, Wiredrive Combine Forces, Launch Screeners Platform (CDSA)

On the heels of announcing their merger in February, some of the industry’s largest SaaS platforms for video-driven creative workflows will be showing off the fruits of their combined labor at NAB 2017. MediaSilo and Wiredrive will be debuting Screeners, their new secure screening platform, as well as giving sneak previews of new product coming down the pike, including a modern dailies platform.

Screeners is a new screening room solution designed to make everyone involved with previewing pre-release content happy. For PR and marketing teams, Screeners provides turnkey, branded screening rooms protected with industry-leading security. For reporters, awards judges, and social media influencers who need to view an avalanche of new episodes, Screeners removes the technical roadblocks that can make the difference between a great review and none at all.

“Just managing the variety of ways you have to get screeners is now a huge part of the job for everybody,” says Ellen Gray, Television Critic for the Philadelphia Daily News and the Philadelphia Inquirer, echoing complaints from fellow reviewers ranging from poor playback to juggling multiple passwords for each network screening room. “Sometimes, it’s like ‘how much trouble is this worth?’”

“I probably give more coverage to networks who make it easy to view their screeners,” admits Alyssa Rosenberg, Culture Writer for the Washington Post. “If the industry would adopt a centralized solution with everything in one place, I would happily accommodate much tighter security.”

Screeners is that secure streamlined solution. Viewers can only see content that they have been granted access to, protected by SafeStream™ on-demand watermarking technology. The Screeners Apple TV app provides a premium viewing experience, while passwordless login means reporters can retire the complicated spreadsheets they currently maintain to juggle network credentials.

Likewise, Screeners keeps managing content and users simple for PR teams, with an elegant interface that helps organize lists by tags and demographics and makes it easy to upload, publish, or restrict content. Detailed analytics give insight into who has watched each episode, allowing personalized follow-up with each reviewer.

MediaSilo and WireDrive will be also be showing off new updates to both platforms, including a new Adobe panel that allows users to import media, make edits, and collaborate with other users, all without leaving the authoring environment. They will also be providing an exclusive sneak peek of their upcoming modern dailies solution, which aims to answer a market need for a cost-effective, web-based dailies workflow that keeps access to rushes in the control of production teams.
