NatureWindow.TV Unveils HD Nature App Powered by OneScreen

By Lyndsey Schaefer

Living landscape videos have come a long way since the static crackling fireplace and aquarium shots of yesteryear. NatureWindow.TV shows just how far today with the announcement of the debut of the first in a series of applications across multiple platforms to deliver immersive living landscape videos to audiences across multiple screens. The free NatureWindow.TV Android application, currently available for Google TV, enables users to preview, purchase, and stream full-length HD nature and living landscape videos instantly.

The NatureWindow.TV application is powered by OneScreen, a business-to-business digital video services company that empowers publishers, producers, and advertisers with a network to discover opportunities, a platform to manage operations, and a marketplace to transact business.

NatureWindow.TV was introduced to OneScreen through Google, who recommended OneScreen for its high quality video applications.

“As audiences move away from DVD purchasing, it’s important for media companies to follow them and provide rich digital video experiences,” says OneScreen CEO Atul Patel. “NatureWindow.TV’s presence on Google Play and the application’s in-app purchasing features prove that the DVD business model can have a home in digital.”

NatureWindow.TV has been transforming living rooms into sensory-immersive living landscapes with high-definition nature experiences since 2006. The videos, shot by co-founder Michael Heumann, feature beautiful destinations from around the world, from the mountains of Patagonia to the shores and waters of Hawaii.

“What we’ve discovered is the people who seek our products out are people who can’t get out into nature. They love it as a way to relax and meditate,” Heumann says. “It’s the tradition going back to the cave paintings of bringing nature inside.”

NatureWindow and OneScreen are proud of the fact that the app is a seamless experience where users have the ability to preview 16 full-length HD nature and landscape videos, make in-app purchases and stream purchased content. Users are able to preview clips of long-form videos prior to purchase, with the option to purchase single videos or collections of full-length videos, HD streaming, and personal playlist queuing and playback.

“This app will grow with NatureWindow. We were able to ingest all of NatureWindow.TV’s content into OneScreen and can seamlessly publish new content to the app as it is created,” says Elizabeth Fairchild, Director of Marketing for OneScreen.

In addition to living rooms, NatureWindow.TV sees its content featured in hospital rooms, airports, doctors’ waiting rooms and senior care centers. The genre isn’t new, but NatureWindow is at the forefront of the medium by following the top nature photographers in the world, and employing the latest technologies like HD camera drones, super slow motion and 4K cameras to capture the most minute details for viewers.

The NatureWindow app is currently available globally in the Google Play store for Google TV and is discoverable in the Google Marketplace. The Google TV app is free to download (to preview and experience); from the app you can purchase whole collections or one off videos. It will also soon be available for Android tablets.

“What’s unique about our service is that OneScreen brings all of the technologies and solutions stakeholders need to power their digital video business under one roof, from video players and application development, to advertising and content licensing tools – we cover every end,” Fairchild explains. “In addition to our technologies, we’re also creating a network for video stakeholders to discover each other and do business. You’ll eventually be able to log into OneScreen to find producers, publishers, and advertisers to collaborate on new projects with.”

OneScreen powers clients on all ends of the spectrum, from large magazine publishers to niche content producers.
